- Date of publication 11-29-2004 The Canadian sisters and associates organize their annual fall craft sale held November 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd offering a variety of homemade items with all proceeds going towards our congregation’s missions in Africa and Peru…….
For weeks and weeks now, associates, family members, friends and several sisters have been very busy making a variety of attractive items for our annual fall craft sale in support of the congregation’s missions in Africa and Peru. The collection of items gathered for this year’s sale was, once again, ingenious and really quite beautiful!
The quantity of items contributed along with their accompanying gestures of marvellous generosity attest to a real interest that seems to be growing from year to year as together we seek viable, concrete ways of working towards helping alleviate conditions of poverty and injustice in developing lands, with a particular emphasis on our own congregation’s missions.
Just being part of such concrete actions carried forth with heart-warming enthusiasm frees up in each of us new and renewed reasons to hope for and act in favour of the dawning of a world where greater justice and peace for all becomes more and more possible! Every gesture, even the smallest and most basic, that is conducive to more widespread peace and creates ever-greater justice for all those persons who still live in conditions of intense poverty and stark need fashions in us a growing sense of proximity to and solidarity with our sisters and brothers in need.
This year we wanted to also add homemade baking to our list of items for sale. As a result, there was a wonderful variety of delicious baking goods to help in our fund raising efforts! We are very grateful to all those faithful, generous purchasers at this year’s craft-sale because by the end of the sale days we are able to share this additional sum of money with our sisters on mission in Africa and Peru!
