On, Saturday, September 25th sisters, associates and numerous friends gathered at St-Thomas d’Aquin Church to give special thanks to God for the gift of Perrine Thulard, our foundress.

Our festivities together began with a beautifully celebrated, meaningful Eucharist of thanksgiving in honour of Perrine’s 350th birthday followed by a festive meal in a climate of relaxed fellowship and informal sharing. We had the particular joy of welcoming Cécile, our congregational leader, among us as we paused to celebrate this important moment in our long and graced history, here on Canadian soil!
We spent a simply wonderful afternoon recalling, describing, sharing and delightfully listening to our various deeply moving experiences of the 350th birthday festivities honouring Perrine this past summer, in France! To assist our sharing Mary-Anne showed us all an impressive power point presentation of photos taken day by day as the events unfolded: para-liturgy, pilgrimages, eucharistic celebrations, celebration of the final vows of three young African sisters, fun evenings, informal sharing, visits as well as more formal meeting times and many more happy moments together! Some folks said they almost felt as if they had participated in person during the France celebrations, the presentation was so well done! Everyone who had been to France shared their impressions with deep gratitude communicating a very alive, renewed faith enkindled through the strengthening of very meaningful ties of friendships and the opportunity to make new ones around common values in the footsteps of Jesus according to the charism and intuition of Perrine experiencing personally being clearly empowered by the thrust of her audacious invitation to “serve Jesus-Christ poor in the person of the poor……..so that the poor might know that God loves them”.

Our afternoon drew to a close as in the context of a prayer ceremony sisters and associates together renewed their annual commitment to live out this challenging charism in the context of the particular circumstances of each one’s everyday life.
