Laetitia pronounced her first vows in the congregation

2- in France - Date of publication 09-23-2004
On Saturday, 4th September 2004, in Evron, after two years in the noviciate, one of them spent in England, Laetitia pronounced her first vows in the congregation.

On Saturday, 4th September 2004, there was once again a celebration in Evron for the sisters of the French Province and the Mother House. After two years in the noviciate, one of them spent in England, Laetitia pronounced her first vows in the congregation. Such a commitment involves welcoming and cooperating with God‚s gift to her. The invitation to enter into an Alliance with Him along the road of "faith in action" marked out by the foundress of the congregation : Perrine Thulard, who we have just celebrated.
During the Eucharist, after the reading of the Gospel, Laetitia is called byher name, in the name of God, by the Provincial Superior, and she replies :
« You have called me Lord, here I am. »
The celebrant asks : « Laetitia, what do you ask of the Church ? »
Laetitia : « With the help of God, and in the knowledge of what is required by the Rule of life of the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Evron since I have lived with you, sisters, during the two years of Noviciate, I ask to make profession in your Congregation in order to consecrate myself to God and His kingdom. »
After the homily, which once more sheds light on this commitment, the dialogue continues.
The celebrant : « To follow Christ more perfectly, are you willing to be chaste for the Kingdom of Heaven, choose poverty and live in obedience ? »
Laetitia : « Yes, I am. »
The celebrant : « by his grace may God grant you this ! »
Laetitia then pronounces in a clear voice her vows. She receives the insignia of religious profession : the Cross and the Rule of Life of the Sisters of the Congregation. She signs her commitment in the Congregation‚s register, as do the Provincial, the mistress of formation, the witnesses and the celebrant. A joyful burst of applause and encouragement show the support for Laetitia of all present. At the end of the Eucharist the African sisters express their joy in welcoming their younger sister by dancing with her to where refreshments are being served.

That evening, a buffet offered to friends from the University and even from sixth form, a few sisters from the different Provinces and Delegations, continues the celebration.
The African sisters, preparing to return to their country, make the link with the celebration being prepared in Ivory Coast for the first vows of Elisabeth, Henriette and Odile the 26th September.
Truly, the joy expressed in the faces of these young women is a sign that religious life is a way of happiness in a world searching for meaning.
