- Date of publication 07-10-2004 On April 17th, the sisters of the French Province gathered in Pontmain to bring closure to their time of regular visitation and celebrate this year’s jubilarians.
The period of regular visitation is a special time for the sisters of a given Province or Delegation. The general superior, accompanied by one or the other of her three assistants spend quality time in each community listening to the sisters as they share their experiences with those whose lives touch their own and as they share their common projects, incite enthusiasm and encouragement whenever it is needed.
The members of the general council share their perceptions gathered during community encounters as well as those gathered during the various intercommunity get togethers emphasizing positive aspects such as: the daily experience of interconnectedness, the dynamism of the sisters, the capacity for adaptation regardless of age and the health status of each sister.
Also, we took sufficient time to share in small groups, that which has marked us, awakened us and energized us during these times of more intense sharing. The time of regular visitation drew to a close in this spirit, calling each sister forth with renewed momentum.
We were deeply moved by the reception of messages from the other provinces and delegations indicating once again the evidence of a deepening spirit of real communion among us throughout the entire congregation.
After reflecting together it is time to celebrate our jubilarians ! A meal worthy of this joyous occasion is served! At 3 o’clock we came together to celebrate the Eucharist. If every jubilee is an occasion to give thanks for the gifts received from God, it is also a privileged opportunity to review our lives in the light of the Pascal experience, discovering therein many occasions both of God’s favor and untiring invitation towards us.
