- Date of publication 10-01-2008 On 16th August 2008, the Congregation celebrated the memory of Perrine in La Chapelle-au-Riboul where our Foundress was born on 6th November 1654...
The stele, erected in memory of Perrine near the yard facing the farm, was covered with a beautiful cloth and surrounded with flowers.
Cécile welcomed us. After wards, Cecile invited Marie-Jo Legeay, archiviste, to remind us of some historical aspects. We listened to a text from Joshua and a modern day adaptation.
The Stele is slowly unveiled. We can read: "Here, at the Bigottière, was born on 6th November 1654, Perrine Brunet, foundress of the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Evron" and we gave thanks to God. It was at this point that Yves Chauveau, permanent deacon and associate, proceeded to bless the stele. A balloon was placed near the stele by the representative from each country. To signify the union of our minds and hearts far beyond any frontiers, Sister Cécile gave the leader of each entity a small stone on which figured the name that expresses our "foundation stone" la Bigottière, and each one was invited to find a place of honour for it. Cécile then took some of the soil of la Bigottière and mixed it with that of the Perrine memorial garden, the first stage of a long history. We then walked to the Chapelle des Chataigniers singing Hail Mary full of grace as Perrine did so often 3 centuries ago.
After this event we all came together in the chapel of the foundation house. Marie-Louise Vallée, explained to us in very simple terms the charism received from Perrine and how we can live it out today. After this talk we were invited to reflect on some texts, alone or in a group, while walking up and down the garden paths and admiring the beautiful flowers.
Shortly after 5 o'clock everyone came together near the memorial garden. All who had come to the celebration were welcomed by Cécile. We are going to tell briefly the story of this garden.
At this point Cécile cut the ribbon and walked into the garden to place some soil from la Bigottière in each flower bed. Yves Chauveau blessed the garden.
But what is happening in the sky? Why is this little plane flying so low? What is this streamer saying to us? It is a message from Perrine written for this feast day and prepared for us in secret by one of our associates and welcomed with emotion by the entire group: "From here on high I have seen you all with my daughters (your Sisters in the garden of paradise!). Thank you for continuing my mission and we are interceding for you all. I love you. Perrine Thulard".
Some people chat.....it's an opportunity for exchanging past memories. We offer you this text written by the father of Mr Burson, the present Mayor of Chapelle au Riboul.
This long day ends with refreshments in the beautifully decorated hall. There is so much to share after these intense and moving events.
