Congregational leaders together with the ‘International Initial Formation and Vocation Promotion Team’ members from each of the countries where we are on mission meet in Evron…….

August 16th, 17th and the morning of the 18th is a time for sharing the story of initial formation and vocation promotion in countries as diverse as West Africa, England, Wales, Canada, Peru and France.
Those sisters serving most directly in the area of initial formation and vocation promotion spoke with courage and enthusiasm of the experiences of their mission. The various questions of clarification or requests for additional explications conveyed the interest and attention given to the challenge of sharing our spiritual heritage with those journeying towards becoming sisters of Evron.

Our time together drew to a close with a particularly meaningful missioning celebration. Cecile, our congregational leader, lit the candles of the initial formation team members from the Pascal candle, symbolizing Jesus’ presence at the very centre of our lives, while confirming them in their mission with these words from the 2nd letter of Timothy, “I am reminding you now to fan into a flame the gift of God that you possess. God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a Spirit of power and love and self-control.”

The initial formation team members then passed this light on to those present who represented all the members of the congregation and beyond.
