- Date of publication 06-28-2010 The meeting of the Associates that took place in October was, as you can imagine, a time for sharing what happened in Evron and in Canada for the Centenary of the sisters’ arrival.
On the 15th August, at the Residence in Evron, the sisters recalled through a mime the arrival of the pioneers.
The evening ended with a thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration. A power point had been prepared on the celebrations in Canada and all those who took part enjoyed watching it.
Then the theme, "see that you are dressed for action and have your lamps lit" also translated as "the hand for labour, the heart for God" occupied a time of reflection.
In January, in spite of the rigours of winter, we gathered at 10 am to share our photos, films taken in Canada during the summer. It was an opportunity to relive the experiences for those who took part, to recall memories for those who had previously visited Alberta and rich in discovery for the others.
After the meal we spent some time reflecting on the parable of the Good Samaritan which links up with the theme: "Creators of Justice, partners in Healing".
What a surprise in March to receive a little heart accompanied by a message; many thanks to Louise Lee.
During Lent 2 questions drew our attention:
1.Fasting, giving something up... but what?
2. What is the link between Justice and Charity?
On Saturday 12th June all the French Associates will celebrate St John's feast day with a picnic/barbecue.
During the year the Emmaus group have met at regular intervals to reflect on the Word of God and deepen Benedict XV1's Encyclical "Caritas in Veritate".
Sisters, Associates and friends are invited to take part in the organised walks which provide an excellent opportunity for discovering our beautiful area. These are opportunities for getting to know one another and making new friends.
