Many associate members came from each of the different countries where Sisters of Charity Notre-Dame d'Evron are presently living gathered in Evron, France, to celebrate and share in the congregation-wide festivities in honour of the 350th birthday of Perrine Thulard

     During the week of August 2nd through l0th 2004, many associate members came from each of the different countries where Sisters of Charity Notre-Dame d'Evron are presently living gathered in Evron, France, to celebrate and share in the congregation-wide festivities in honour of the 350th birthday of Perrine Thulard, this audacious woman whose heart was ablaze with the love of God and neighbour and whose courageous service reached out in compassionate care recognizing Jesus Christ poor in the person of the poor.

     Through eucharistic celebrations, moments of communal prayer, evenings of relaxation together, meal times and other moments of formal or more informal sharing associates and sisters, family members and friends had occasion to deepen and expand their appreciation of the intuition of Perrine in the footsteps of Jesus, the human face of God, encountered in the ordinary everyday circumstances of their lives in a spirit of simplicity and humility; in a spirit of charity and unity!

     It is truly remarkable to witness the same charism at work in such diverse circumstances giving human form, for our times and reality, to the invitation of Jesus to be about the ushering in of God's kingdom of justice and peace for all peoples.
     On September 25th Sisters of Evron and associates will gather to share our moving experiences of this past summers' festivities in France and to honour Perrine's 350th birthday, here, in Canada. It is our particular joy to welcome into our midst Cécile Goyer, our congregational leader, who is presently visiting in Canada for a few weeks. We look forward to this time of joyous celebration, fellowship and sharing with heart-felt anticipation and enthusiasm !

	During this year - Date of publication 06-28-2010 The meeting of the Associates that took place in October was, as you can imagine, a time for sharing what happened in Evron and in Canada for the Centenary of the sisters’ arrival.
	Pilgrimages - Date of publication 03-11-2010 The Associates and some Sisters recently made some pilgrimages. One of these was to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Walsingham which is in the east of England.
	A hundred years… That can be understood in various ways - Date of publication 11-09-2009 Perrine has been present in the West of Canada for a hundred years in the person of the Sisters who took up a challenge and accomplished a great acheivement. Each one left her own corner of Mayenne to go to “the other end of the earth” as people said at the time and we can imagine the strong faith that motivated them.
	Sister Marie-Louise Recton whose memory is still alive in Alberta - Date of publication 11-09-2009 Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that a young woman, one of my relatives (Sister Marie-Louise Recton, first provincial of the sisters of Evron in Canada) would have had such a lasting effect on a community.
	The Fortsaskatchewan Associates - Date of publication 06-15-2009 The Fort Saskatchewan Associates meet on a monthly basis after the 11:00 mass, usually at Our Lady of Angels Parish church hall if the meeting rooms are not being used. This has provided us the opportunity to have Fathers Francis and John join us on several occasions.
