- Date of publication 06-15-2009 The text used at the International Mass was from Corinthians 1. “God has chosen the weak of this world to confuse the strong. Joy for the poor, Glory to Bernadette! She lived the Gospel to the full: love, to love is enough!”
The theme of the pilgrimage was "The WAY of Bernadette."
In the course of four days the young people discovered the places where Bernadette lived, the various shrines.
They experienced the Eucharist in groups of young people, with the diocesan pilgrims and at the international Mass.
They lead the way of the Cross with the members of the diocese who wished to join them.
They had a service of reflection in preparation for the sacrament of reconciliation.
Another great moment was a mountain walk with Father Scherrer and an open-air Mass.
With 16 other leaders from different backgrounds, we were fortunate to have witnessed the life of this pilgrimage. Here are a few quotes from the valuation:
"What I wanted from this pilgrimage was to spend some time with God and my friends."
"I did not ask question my faith very much before, I did not commit myself, but now I have learnt to do it."
"All dimensions of faith are found in the youth pilgrimage: in the songs, the prayers, the celebrations, the Mass, times of reflection and gatherings."
"The highlight for me was the Stations of the Cross for one is united with other believers as well as with the Lord."
"The pilgrimage has strengthened my faith."
"I went on pilgrimage to rediscover my faith because in college it is not so easy. I return from this pilgrimage stronger in my faith, thanks to the times of prayer and reflection."
"The pilgrimage enabled me to reflect personally on my faith; to rediscover true values (sharing, meeting, service)."
